USA Dance President Peter Pover praised Fort Wayne Dancesport member Vivian Hans by name in his "President's Report" column in the January/February issue of "American Dancer," the bimonthly magazine of the national organization. Vivian is our chapter's membership chairperson, newsletter publisher and organizer of our chapter competition, the USA Dance Fort Wayne Dancesport Championships.
In his column, Pover writes, "In 2008, we had a very rewarding experience in working with Speical Olympians. Fort Wayne DanceSport Chapter in IN #2046, led by Vivian Hans, reached an agreement with Special Olympics and Easter Seals to run a competition in which chapter members danced competitively with Special Olympians. The event was a stunning success, and will spread to other states. Vivian -- you and your colleagues have made a difference. Well done."
