The above is an estimated schedule for our event.  As you know we are holding 2 comps in 1 and this year we will actually be mixing those comps on the floor.  This means:

  • All athletes participating in the USA Dance 2010 FWDancesport Championships are  invited to march in during the Special Olympics Indiana Opening Ceremony.  This is an invitation you will not want to miss as you have seen nothing like it in any other USA Dance competition you have participated in.
  • After the Opening Ceremony has ended the heats will start out like this:
    • First Heat will be SOI Unified Sports Newcomer Waltz dancers
    • Second Heat will be  USA Dance 2010 FWDC Newcomer Waltz dancers
    • Third Heat will be SOI Unified Sports Bronze Waltz dancers
    • Fourth Heat will be USA Dance 2010 FWDC Bonze Waltz dancers
    • Fifth Heat will be USA Dance 2010 FWDC Silver Waltz dancers
  • The Special Olympics Indiana Athlete only dances American Waltz and Foxtrot heats and American Waltz and Foxtrot SKILLS so there will come a point when there will be no Special Olympics Indiana Athlete heats between USA Dance 2010 FWDC heats.
  • This approach has been developed for two reasons:
    • The SOI Athlete needs more rest time between dancing for health and safety  reasons
    • This approach will also give the USA Dance 2010 FWDC participants the opportunity to see the excellent dancing of the SOI participants and also the SOI participants can see the excellent dancing of the USA Dance 2010 FWDC participants.
  • Each day of the competition there will be a lunch break and a dinner break
  • There will be two SOI workshops offered:  tentatively one on Saturday right before the dinner break and on Sunday right before the lunch break.
  • There will be a youth workshops taught at the close of the Sunday events.
  • There will be competitive & social workshops offered on Saturday tentatively during lunch break.

As always a more detailed time frame schedule will be provided one week prior to the start of the competition.  If you have questions please contact Vivian Hans, Organizer at 260-494-3185 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
